“Conspiracies Hatched in Hell Don’t Have Angels as Witnesses”

The Cohen Hearing — A Few Highlights
You probably are aware by now that Michael Cohen appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Elijah Cummings (D-Md), prepared everyone with his powerful opening statement for what to expect during the next several hours of testimony from President Donald Trump’s, former personal lawyer and fixer for more than a decade.
You may recall, on August 21, of last year Mr. Cohen appeared in federal court and admitted to arranging secret payoffs of hundreds of thousands of dollars on the eve of the election to silence women alleging affairs with Donald Trump.
Mr. Cohen admitted to violating campaign finance laws, lying before Congress and other laws.
He admitted to committing these felonies quote, “in coordination with, and at the direction of” President Trump.
And he admitted to lying about his actions to protect the President.
Some will ask (and at the hearing they certainly did), if Mr. Cohen was lying then, why should we believe him now?
Good point — that is a legitimate question coming from someone who once claimed — he would take a bullet for Donald Trump. Now, the Republicans — eager to be rid of Cohen kept suggesting that the information he provided through sworn testimony was nothing but lies, even though if anyone was in a position to know the inner workings of the Trump organization — surely Michael Cohen was.
That is why Michael Cohen’s testimony was so riveting. Here are a few excerpts and highlights from Michael Cohen’s written and oral remarks.
“I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is.
He is a racist. He is a con man. He is a cheat,” Cohen said in his opening statement.
There is a lot to unpack there. By definition.. let’s look at it…
Racist: Someone who practices racism is called a racist. a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
